Manchester seniors ages 55+ have a new, twice-weekly, free exercise class right here in the City starting this week!

Senior Fit is being offered at no cost as a gift to the senior community by Trinity Health, the parent company of Chelsea Hospital. Class participants will be doing calisthenics, weight training, and balance training and should wear comfortable clothes. The class will be taught by either a strength and conditioning coach, physical therapist, or physical therapist assistant and will either be taught by one main coach or split between two different coaches so participants will get to know their instructors.

Senior Fit classes are Wednesday and Friday at 10am in the Village Room (lower level, 912 City Rd). Classes will run through the last week of September. Some of the benefits of the class include: increased heart health, increased bone-mineral density, increased balance and reduced risk of falling, increased ability to perform activities of daily life, increased ability to navigate the community more safely, and increased ability to play with family with reduced pain and fatigue.
