from Legacy Land Conservancy

Curious about Legacy Land Conservancy’s newest preserve? Want to get a sneak peek before the property is open to the broader public? Come help us get the property ready for the public, and hear about Legacy’s newest preserve acquisition!

On August 22, from 3 to 5pm, and August 24, from 10am to noon, Legacy Land Conservancy will be leading two workdays at Iron Creek Preserve. Join us to help remove trash from the preserve in preparation for the public opening. Volunteers will be helping to remove trash with buckets and wheelbarrows from the remains of a former structure. Trash will be disposed of at a dumpster on-site.

Please dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pants and closed-toe shoes are a must, regardless of the temperature, to protect from poison ivy and getting scratched up while working outside. Legacy will provide buckets and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like. Don’t forget a water bottle and sunscreen. We also suggest you bring bug spray to reduce the risk of exposure to ticks and other biting insects. Meet at the future site of the preserve parking lot located at 11703 Noggles Rd, Manchester, Michigan 48158.

RSVP by filling out the Google Form (which you can reach by visiting https://legacylandconservancy.org/events/ and scrolling down and clicking on “Iron Creek Preserve Workday,” then clicking on Google Form link). Questions? Call 734-302-5263 or email volunteer@legacylandconservancy.org
