River Raisin Watershed Council celebrating turning 50 with a gala
submitted by River Raisin Watershed Council
The River Raisin Watershed Council (RRWC) celebrates its 50th birthday this year! Formed in 1974 under the State of Michigan’s Local River Management Act, RRWC has dedicated these many years to improving the health of the River Raisin through engagement with residents, businesses, and partner organizations alike. Now, RRWC invites you to celebrate these efforts with a commemorative gala!
Join us on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Tobias Center on the beautiful Adrian College campus. Doors open at 5:30pm and dinner will begin promptly at 6pm. The evening program will be “A Journey Through Time: The River Raisin and Its Impact” as we reflect on the efforts of river champions throughout the years. Semi-formal dress recommended.
Individual tickets are available for $50, or sponsor a table of 8 for $400. All proceeds benefit the RRWC mission of improving water quality and promoting education across the River Raisin for all ages. Tickets are available for purchase online at: https://givebutter.com/rrwcgala
RRWC is a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire behaviors that promote stewardship, improve water quality, and encourage public participation to protect, preserve, and enhance the River Raisin Watershed. RRWC works toward these goals through watershed education; training; expanding river access; partnering with local, state, and federal organizations in water monitoring and safety; environmental studies; farming and agriculture-related initiatives; and working toward an increasingly navigable and healthy River Raisin.
