New tween book club holding first meeting

Readers ages 11–14 are invited to the Manchester District Library to read and discuss Beyond the Bright Sea by Lauren Wolk, winner of the 2018 Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction. The T(w)een Book Club will meet on Thursdays at 4:30pm in the Teen Spot, September 19 through October 10.

Participants can bring their own copy of the book, or copies will be available for checkout from the library at the first meeting. During each session, the group will read a portion of the book and discuss thoughts on that specific section; there will be several chapters to read at home between meetings as well. At the last session, the group will read the last chapter together and talk about their favorite parts, favorite characters, and if  they would change anything about the story.
