Manchester Varsity Football blows out Homer in week #3, 44–0

The Flying Dutchmen traveled to Homer for its third game of the 2024 season last Friday and brought home a big one for the “W” column, ready to meet their opponents from Napoleon for homecoming this weekend, September 20.

The Dutch carved out a 44-point shut-out in three periods, scoring three TDs in the first quarter. First credit is to Walter Ahrens, who ran the ball from the <10 and carried it to the end zone for a 7-yard gain and TOUCHDOWN! Player hands off ball at the < 6 #5; Jayden Johnson runs the ball from the < 6 and carries the ball to the end zone for a 3-yard gain and two-point conversion.

The second TD in the first quarter saw Brady Reed run the ball from the < 29 and carry the ball to the end zone, a 26-yard gain for the touchdown. #2 Tommy Johnson runs the ball from the < 6 and carries the ball to the end zone. Three-yard gain; two-point conversion! Player hands off ball at the > 22 #6 Brady Reed runs.

And to round out the first-quarter scoring, #6 Brady Reed runs the ball from inside the 22 and carries the ball to the end zone as a 19-yard gain and the third touchdown of the game. #5 Jayden Johnson runs the ball from the > 6 and carries the ball to the end zone. Three-yard gain for another two-point conversion!

At 1:39 in the 2nd quarter, another Manchester TD emerged as #6 Brady Reed ran the ball from the < 29 and carried the ball to the end zone for a 26-yard gain and TOUCHDOWN! #2 Tommy Johnson ran the ball from the < 6 and carried the ball to the end zone. Another 3-yard gain and 2-point conversion on the scoreboard for the Dutch.

Rounding out the second-quarter scoring was #17 Jackson Walz handing off the ball at the > 28. #6 Brady Reed runs the ball from the > 28 and carries the ball to the end zone for a 25-yard gain and the TOUCHDOWN! #17 Jackson Walz attempts the point after touchdown from the > 21. Walz drops back to the > 21 and throws an incomplete pass.

In the third quarter, Manchester’s Jackson Walz hands off ball at the > 15, while #5 Jayden Johnson runs the ball from the > 15 and carries the ball to the end zone for the final TOUCHDOWN for the game. Jackson Walz attempts the point after touchdown from the > 6, then hands off the ball at the > 6. #4 Bubba Duffing runs the ball from the > 6 and carries the ball to the end zone for a 3-yard gain and 2-point conversion!
