Letter to the editor: Endorsing Lisa Moutinho for Manchester Township Trustee

To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Lisa Moutinho for Manchester Township Trustee and am urging my fellow Manchester Township residents to vote for her on November 5.

Lisa has been a trustee for eight years. I have attended most township board meetings in the past few years. Lisa is always the one asking more questions, trying to find solutions, and has done that.

She headed up the broadband effort for the township and played an important role in bringing high-speed internet to all of Manchester Township. Several years ago she proposed that the township develop a more transparent process for appointing members to various township-related positions. The policy has been implemented and she is on the committee that interviews applicants.

Now that the scope of the issues between the township and city have become clear, as evident in open letters between the supervisor and mayor published in the Mirror on September 25, it is clear that much work will be needed before the statement that “we are one community” can feel true again.

I believe Lisa can be one of the key people who can help get the township and city on the right track. Our future is clouded until that happens. I hope you will join me in casting your vote for Lisa Moutinho.
