James Morgan Montgomery (July 29, 1953 – October 10, 2024)

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved father, James Morgan Montgomery. Surrounded by his family, James passed away at his home in Manchester, October 10, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.

James was born July 29, 1953, in Paintsville, Kentucky, and moved to Michigan as a child. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1971 and joined the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After his time in the Air Force, he worked as a lithograph coding operator until his retirement from Malloy Lithographing. James was a large part of the Manchester community. He was a member of the Manchester Men’s Club and served as president for a time, helping at the Manchester fireworks, Chicken Broil, Chili Cook-Off, and more. James was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing pool at The Village Tap and became a part of their league. James had a love for classic cars and owned his own ’68 and ’69 Chevelles and a ’73 T-Top Corvette, which he looked forward to driving around and taking to car shows once finished.

James will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children: Bridgette, Katrina, James, Kandice, and Kamber, and step-son Ronnie; grandchildren: Alec, Rebekah, Kelsie, Sarah, Faith, Aiden, Kayahna, Kai, and Jameson; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Esme, and Royce; and sister: Eula; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving fiancée, Sony; parents: Hade and Vera; sister: Dorothy; and brother: Charles.

Both viewing and funeral service will be held at the Eineder Funeral Homes — Manchester Chapel, 267 E Duncan St, Manchester, MI 48158

Viewing: Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm.

Funeral service: Friday, October 18, 2024, 11am–1pm, with the procession leading to graveside at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.

A celebration of James’ life will be held at The Village Tap following the burial on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2pm.
