Manchester Junior/Senior High school is brimming with exceptional students. The students of the month for November are seventh grader Lillian Coe, Freshman Elias Finnegan, Sophomore Max Harvey, Junior Lucy Baran, and Senior Rebecca Clark.

Lillian Coe helps others when they need it and does her best to be a good student. “I am in band and SRSLY, where I help with the town and other activities,” Lillian stated.

Freshman Eli Finnegan is kind and makes sure to treat everyone with respect and equality. He keeps up with his schoolwork and helps others when he can. According to Eli, he “strive[s] to make [the] school a better place through actions and language.”

Sophomore Max Harvey is on the school Quiz Bowl Team. He demonstrates good class etiquette, has good grades, and turns his work in on time. “I am involved in our school’s activities, such as Student Council and Link Crew,” he said. His role in Link Crew allows Max to be a role model to younger students. Max is also on the basketball team and in the jazz band.

When something needs to be done at MJSHS, chances are Junior Lucy Baran is one of the faces you will see taking care of it. Like Max, Lucy is involved in many activities. She balances a part-time job with her participation in Link Crew, Quiz Bowl, School Improvement Team, and NHS, and plans to play sports later in the winter. She is also a student advocate for the Student Council, which she just started getting involved in. According to Lucy, “Being able to balance many different aspects of such a busy life can be challenging, and making it work takes a lot of effort.”

Senior Rebecca Clark is a highly motivated student who takes the time and effort to “go the extra mile,” always striving to do the best she can. Rebecca enjoys participating in school activities, especially those that allow her to be a mentor. “Link Crew, National Honor Society, and my 4-H membership have all given me opportunities to mentor younger students,” Rebecca said. “I really appreciate the relationships that I have with children and younger students. It gives me great pride to have someone look up to me and I am always on the lookout for things I can do to help people.”
