Letter to the Editor: Thank you from Christmas in the Village organizers
December 8, 2024
Dear Ones,
Kathy, Sue, and I would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to our community for showing up to participate in and enjoy Christmas in the Village. Our hearts were warmed seeing kids having fun, adults enjoying times with friends and family, and the whole community supporting our local businesses, churches, and organizations.
We would like to give special thanks to our financial sponsors: The Manchester DDA, Hastings Performance, Worth Repeating, and American 1 Credit Union. Their generous support enables us to provide special activities for all to enjoy.
We would also like to give deep appreciation to some of the awesome community members who helped make Christmas in the Village special. Dawn Donnelly and Ken Magee of the Manchester Mill set the stage for the weekend by allowing us the use of the Mill Porch and decorating it so wonderfully. Barry Allen once again helped us get into the Christmas spirit by loaning us his awesome sound system. We had a team of awesome volunteers who helped us at the barricades to keep the route clear and safe for the parade and provided crowd control on Friday night and helped with kids’ crafts on Saturday at Sharon Valley Bike Shop. Thanks to SRSLY for providing hot chocolate on Friday night and the Manchester Mirror for printing up the schedule and keeping our community informed. Finally we want to thank all the businesses and organizations in town who participated in this event by offering specials and fun activities, decorating their windows, and generally just showing all the folks who came out what a wonderful community we have.
It truly takes a village to put this together. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
Warmest Holiday Thanks and Wishes,
Sue LaRocque, River Raisin Mercantile
Kathy LaHaie, The Sassy Peacock
Merrill Guerra, Dragonfly and Birch
