Christian Burrell, coach of the Manchester Jr/Sr High School’s mountain bike team and architect of the new mountain bike trails in the city, announced last week that most of the new trails, proposed and begun in April, are complete. He added the caveat that some re-routing and reinforcement of side hills are still coming as is more trail signage.

If you are thinking that it is a shame that this announcement came just as our first snow has and that you’ll have to wait for spring, don’t worry! The trails will remain open in the winter as long as there isn’t mud. In addition to mountain bikers, pedestrians, snowshoers, and XC skiers may use the trail. Burrell states, “Dogs are allowed as long as you clean up after your dog. Do not leave small bags [of dog poop] along the side of the trails.” He added that basic e-bikes ARE allowed on the trails but gas-powered motorized vehicles are NOT.
