Not much is better than getting some fresh air during a time of fresh starts. Start the year off by enjoying the beauty of our local birds along the charming River Raisin with a birding hike in the Leonard Preserve on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 8am to 10am, led by Kelsey Dehring of Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation. All levels of birders are welcome. Please bring your own binoculars. Space is limited to 15 birders. Pre-registration required. Register online at parksonline.ewashtenaw.org, click on “nature programs”, scroll down, and click on “Winter Adult Nature Hikes – #821009”. “New Year Birding” is near the top of the list. Email Kelsey at dehringk@washtenaw.org with questions. The Leonard Preserve parking lot is located at 375 N Union St.
