BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS

During a regular meeting on December 05, 2024, the Bridgewater Township Board of Trustees adopted amendments to Section 5.201 (Accessory Dwelling) and Section 19.03 (Definitions) of the Township Zoning Ordinance No. 67, by authority of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act (Public Act 110 of 2006, MCL 125.3101 et. seq., as amended), to update the definition of and applicable standards for accessory dwellings, and to add an allowance for a detached accessory dwelling in the Rural Districts and Residential Districts.

The Zoning Ordinance, Official Zoning Map, and amendatory ordinance may be viewed at the Township Hall by appointment through the Township Clerk’s office; please call (517) 513-9525 or email bridgewatertwpclerk@yahoo.com. The adopted amendments shall become effective on the eighth day following publication of this notice of adoption unless referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402. If referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402, the ordinance shall take effect in accordance with MCL 125.3402.
