PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the Manchester Township Planning Commission, during a regular meeting, will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 9th, 2024 at 6:30 pm. The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment on proposed amendments to the Township’s Zoning Ordinance related to Small-Scale and Community Energy Systems, including regulations for solar and wind energy systems, battery storage facilities, and other related infrastructure.

DATE AND LOCATION: January 9th, 2024 at 6:30 pm at the Manchester Township Hall 275 S. Macomb Street, Manchester, Ml, 48158

PURPOSE: An Amendment to the Manchester Township Zoning Ordinance for the regulation of renewable energy generation and/or storage facilities.

SECTIONS FOR AMENDMENT: Article 2, Section 2.03 & Article 16, Section 16.25

Public Inspection: A copy of the proposed amendments is available for public inspection at the Manchester Township offices during normal business hours.

Written Comments: Written comments regarding the text amendments may be submitted to the Manchester Township Clerk in person or via email at the email below.

Accessibility: This notice complies with 1976 PA 267, MCL 15.261 through 15.275, the Michigan Open Meetings Act (OMA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Manchester Township will provide auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed material being considered at the hearing, to individuals with disabilities upon reasonable notice to the Manchester Township Clerk.
