Discover the outdoor world at the Eddy Discovery Center in the Waterloo Recreation Area!

The Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Rd, Chelsea, Mich., just 10 minutes north of Sharon Township, in the Waterloo Recreation Area. One public program will be held for January 2025, sponsored by the Waterloo Natural History Association.

**Please note** that the Eddy Discovery Center is closed due to ongoing renovations. All programs will be outdoors. Please park at the lower parking lot. We will walk to the Pavilion if it is still available or leave from the lower parking lot.

WINTER ORIENTEERING: 2–4pm, Sunday, January 19. Bring the family and challenge yourselves to an afternoon adventure in the forest with outdoor enthusiast Meg Gower. Winter is a great time of year for learning how to use a compass to find your way in the woods. Winter’s lack of leaves provides great views of Waterloo’s unique topography. This program is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Compasses will be provided or bring your own. Cost: $2/person or $5/family. WNHA members are admitted free. Program is limited to 30 participants. The building is closed, so the program will be entirely outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please register for this program by emailing waterloonha@gmail.com with your name, phone number, and number of people attending. A State Recreation Passport is required for parking.

NOTE – Due to the closure of the Discovery Center for renovations, the Old-Time Maple Sugar Festival will not be held this year.
