Bethel Church holding Harpsichord Benefit Recital

Everyone is cordially invited to join us on Saturday, January 25, at 7pm, for an entertaining and inspirational harpsichord recital at Bethel United Church of Christ, performed by Dr. Shuntaro Sugie. He will be playing works by Byrd, Sweelinck, Frescobaldi, D’Anglebert, Handel, and Duphly. Admission is free but donations are appreciated and proceeds from the concert will benefit the Mary Sue Moore Sacred Music Fund at Bethel Church. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the concert in Bethel’s Fellowship Hall.

Most recently, Dr. Sugie was our guest pianist and organist here at Bethel on Christmas Eve. Dr. Sugie received his doctorate in music performance and harpsichord at the University of Michigan in 2023. His interest in this vintage instrument began while studying in Germany. When he’s not performing, Dr. Sugie teaches piano from his studio in Ypsilanti.
