Discover the outdoor world at the Eddy Discovery Center in the Waterloo Recreation Area!
The Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Rd, Chelsea, Mich., just 10 minutes north of Sharon Township, in the Waterloo Recreation Area. One public program will be held in February 2025, sponsored by the Waterloo Natural History Association.
On Sunday, February 2, join naturalist Robert Ayotte from 2 to 3:30pm for a hike on WSRA Discovery Center Trails, where we will focus on winter phenomena including winter weeds, snow crystals, wintering trees and shrubs, evidence of insects, birds, and abandoned nests, tracks in the snow, and evergreen plants. Meet at the pavilion; the hike will be about 2.5 miles over moderately hilly terrain. If it’s icy, wear your Yak Tracks. Cost: $2/person or $5/family (or free for Waterloo Natural History Association members). The program is limited to 15 participants. Reminder: The building is closed so program will be entirely outdoors. Please register for this program by emailing waterloonha@gmail.com with your name, phone number, and number of people attending, or call 734-475-3170.
**Please note** that the Eddy Discovery Center is closed due to ongoing renovations. All programs will be outdoors. Please park at the lower parking lot. We will walk to the pavilion if it is still available or leave from the lower parking lot.
