Manchester Jr/Sr High School is proud to announce their January Students of the Month. These students have gone above and beyond in both their academic achievements and contributions to their school community.
Seventh grader Cassidy Hieber is a respectful, hardworking student. Cassidy turns in all of her work on time, demonstrates kindness, and takes learning seriously. Eighth grader Zipporah Schiel also takes her education seriously, but her real passion is spreading kindness. Zipporah works hard to be a voice for others, treats everyone with kindness, and strives to make a difference in her school community. She participates on the girls’ basketball team, is vice president of the Alliance Club, and is a member of the yearbook staff.
Freshman Amelia Harris also values kindness and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Amelia is a member of FFA and the equestrian team. She is preparing a bridge for the MDOT TRAC competition, volunteers at the fair, and has represented the school in solo and ensemble music. Like Amelia, Sophomore Gage Simpson also takes pride in helping others. He has demonstrated kindness and responsibility and is someone others know they can count on.
Junior Siera Jedele is a member of the track team (and was captain last season!). She is a SWWC Student Council Representative for Building Trades, works hard to get good grades, and is a good friend and classmate to her peers.
Senior Jesse Sangster is a Link Crew Leader, helping the seventh graders through their first year in the building, helps the Manchester Soccer Club in facilitating Futsal on Friday nights, teaching teamwork and confidence to young soccer players, and is the vice president of the Student Council, assisting in running meetings, planning events, and finding ways to build school spirit. Jesse demonstrates exceptional character, keeps his grades up, and has already been accepted into multiple colleges.
