The City of Manchester has announced they will be installing new hydrants and water main valves beginning on March 31, 2025, continuing throughout the week.

During this time, residents in affected areas will experience temporary water service interruptions. All impacted residents have already received notification letters and will receive an additional notice this week. The schedule for service disruptions is as follows:

  • W. Main Street Vicinity: Water will be shut off overnight between 9:30pm to 10pm on Monday, March 31, with service resuming between 1am and 2am on Tuesday, April 1.

  • Torrey Street and E. Duncan Street: Water will be shut off between 9am to 10am and restored by 3:30pm on Wednesday, April 2.

  • E. Main Street, Wolverine Street, and Vernon Street: Water will be shut off between 9am to 10am and restored by 3:30pm on Thursday, April 3.

As a precaution, a boil-water advisory will be issued for affected residents. The advisory is expected to be lifted by late Thursday or Friday morning for those in the W. Main Street area, and by Friday evening or Saturday morning for residents on Torrey Street and Duncan Street.

Notices will be placed on residents’ front doors on the day of service interruptions, with a follow-up notice confirming when the advisory has been lifted.

For any questions or concerns, residents can contact the city at 734-428-7877. The City of Manchester appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as these essential upgrades are completed.
