Library offering Springtime nature journaling and walk in the Leonard Preserve
submitted by Quintessa Gallinat, Manchester District Library
Manchester District Library (MDL) invites the community to step into the magic of spring together on Tuesday, May 20! On a guided nature walk specially designed for children and families, explore the beauty of the season while learning to identify wild plants native to Michigan. Participants will meet in the Village Room (912 City Road, lower level) at 2pm to receive their pocket nature journal and get tips on creating inspiring nature journals; then, drive separately to the Leonard Nature Preserve (North Union Street) to explore the nature trails there.
Perfect for explorers of all ages, this walk blends fun, education, and hands-on discovery. Come dressed for the weather, bring your sense of wonder, and get ready to meet the wild green world of spring! Slow down, observe the world of springtime, and discover the colors, textures, and stories of the plants waking up after winter. From tiny wildflowers to budding trees, each stop along the trail is a chance to connect with nature and spark curiosity.
This program is free of charge, and materials are provided. All ages are welcome.
Advance registration is requested. Sign up at the circulation desk, by phone at (734)428-8045, or using our online registration form.
