Watkins Lake State Park, Michigan’s 103rd state park co-owned with Washtenaw County Parks, and located partially in Manchester Township, has been open to the public since 2016. From its inception, there has been discussion around forming a friends group. Now, 9 years later, that is happening! A Friends of Watkins State Park group is forming and having their launch meeting on Monday, June 2, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Hayes State Park. Hayes State Park is 10min directly south of Watkins Lake on Wamplers Lake Road. The meeting will be in the lake pavilion, accessed from the west entrance. Help protect, steward, and advocate for this special place.
