Three fun fairy events are coming to Manchester throughout the month of June!

On Thursday, June 5, at 6pm, the Top 10 Ideas for Fairy Gardens Class will share 10 different magical ways to create your very own fairy garden. A free fairy house will be given to the first 12 participants registered. During this lighthearted class you will learn many different ideas to decorate this fairy house at home. Meet in the Council Chambers, which is located under the Manchester District Library. All ages are welcomed; please pre-register in person at the circulation desk, by phone at 734-428-8045, or online at https://forms.gle/qZo88FMQupD8f4ns6

On Thursday, June 26, from 3 to 5pm, the Village Room will transform into The Annual Manchester Fairy Festival! With a sponsorship from Worth Repeating, The Manchester District Library will be hosting The Annual Manchester Fairy Festival with buckets of Fairy Fun! There will be fairy crafts, a fairy garden make-and-take, fairy stories, fairy games, fairy dances, a fairy raffle with a giant stuffed animal donated by the Manchester Lions Club, and so much more! The Village Room is located in the lower level underneath the Manchester District Library.

Back by popular demand is The Manchester Fairy Garden Contest hosted by Worth Repeating. With six different winners, this is a contest you don’t want to miss. Submissions are due by 6pm on Thursday, June 26.

To enter the Fairy Garden Contest, participants create a fairy garden that is displayed in their front yard to contribute toward The Manchester Fairy Garden Tour for the Manchester community to all enjoy. If you don’t live in town, you can display a potted fairy garden at the Manchester District Library and enter the contest. The Manchester District Library will start accepting potted fairy gardens on Friday, June 20.

Once you’ve created your fairy garden (whether it’s in your yard or at the Manchester District Library), submit your name and address to lwohlgemuth@manchesterlibrary.info. We will use these addresses to create a map for the community to go on The Manchester Fairy Garden Tour to view all of the fairy gardens both in the Manchester community and at the Manchester District Library.

A panel of judges will view all of the fairy gardens and will vote on first-, second-, and third-place winners in both adult and children’s categories. Prizes are gift certificates to Worth Repeating in amounts of $10, $15, and $25.

The deadline for contest submissions is Thursday, June 26, by 6pm. The panel of Fairy Garden Judges will be around Friday, June 27, afternoon and evening to judge. The six different winners will be announced on Monday, June 30. Maps will be available at the Manchester Farmers Market, the Manchester District Library, and Worth Repeating.

A huge thank-you to Worth Repeating for sponsoring The Annual Manchester Fairy Festival and The Manchester Fairy Garden Contest.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
