County Commissioners holding board meeting in Manchester
by Sara Swanson
The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners, who usually meet a half hour away in downtown Ann Arbor, will be holding a working session and board meeting in the City Council Chambers here in Manchester on Wednesday, June 4. The working session starts at 5:30pm and the board meeting starts at 7pm. The Council Chambers are located on the lower level of the City Building at 912 City Rd. The meetings are open to the public.
Among many agenda items, the board will be considering a resolution to establish an Office of Aging Services and to allocate millage funds to Washtenaw senior centers, including Manchester. The distribution of the senior millage funds have been a contentious topic of discussion in Manchester and the focus of a well-attended town hall in May. The agenda for these two meetings are available on their website.
The County Commissioners will be attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Manchester’s new senior center earlier in the afternoon, also located in the City Building. Everyone in the community is invited to the ceremony at 4:30pm.
