On Sunday, June 1, at 2pm, Manchester Jr/Sr High School (MHS) held its graduation ceremony inside the gym. In recent years graduation has been held in the athletic complex but it is currently undergoing bond-funded renovations. Principal Joshua Lindeman gave the welcome address. The National Anthem was performed by the MHS band, which was conducted by graduating senior Lillian Smith. In place of a guest speaker, three student council representatives, Gunner Carson, Sawyer Lutton, and Vance Williams, presented senior reflections. Lindeman then presented salutatorian Lillian Smith and valedictorian Lila Harvey. MHS teacher Randy Smith read graduates’ names while diplomas were presented by school board members in many cases and in a few special instances, by the graduate’s parent if they were an employee of Manchester Community Schools. Sawyer Lutton led the turning of the tassel and Lindeman gave closing remarks.
The class of 2025 chose the yellow rose as their class flower, maroon and gold as their class colors, “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw as their class song, and “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” by Lao Tao as their class motto.
