The Flying Dutchman varsity soccer team is inviting the community to participate in their October 8th game to help them raise money for a good cause. The game, 5 pm at Alumni field, will be played in support of the ChadTough Foundation.

Coach Mark Davis teaches his players about more than soccer. Conversations about encouraging others, doing the right thing are part of every practice. As Coach Davis puts it, “Speaking good into others lives,” both on and off the field.

This summer Coach Davis met Chad Carr, a 5-year-old from Saline with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a type of inoperable brain cancer. The ChadTough Foundation was created by Chad’s family to create awareness and fund research to end pediatric brain cancer. Putting the life-lessons they have been learning into action, the Dutchmen decided to turn their October 8th game into a fundraiser to support Chad and his foundation.

The Dutchmen, after a uneven first half of the season, have rebounded with ferocity, and held their last four opponents scoreless. They will be facing Onsted, who is currently enjoying a winning season. With both teams near the top of their conferences, October 8th will be an exciting game.
