The Manchester Community School District has begun planning for the 2016-2017 kindergarten program. Families of children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2016, are encouraged to attend the registration events. Both events are for families who live within the Manchester Community School District, or any families living in Washtenaw County, or counties that border Washtenaw County who would like their children to attend the Manchester Schools as a school of choice.

A parent information night is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. At the parent information night, Principal Karin Villarreal will introduce parents and guardians to the Kindergarten curriculum, give a small presentation on the “typical” kindergarten day, and discuss the registration process. Special literature on school readiness will also be available. This event will take place in the Klager Elementary School Cafeteria, 405 Ann Arbor Street, Manchester.

A registration celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20th from 4 – 7 pm. At this family event, new kindergarten students may register for the upcoming school year. You should be prepared to bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency. Building tours, bus rides, kindergarten classrooms, food service, Motor Moms and Dads, Klager Kids Club, Community Education (Safety Town), and Klager PTO will be available to explore or answer any questions. This event will also take place in the Klager Elementary School Cafeteria.

Registration packets will be available for pick up beginning on April 11th at the Klager School office during normal school hours, 7:45 am – 3:45 pm.
