A special event will be held at Sharon Mills on Sept. 1.

Support your Washtenaw County Parks by participating in Iris Dividing at Sharon Mills Park, located at 5701 Sharon Hollow Road, Sharon Township. This park is one of the gems of our county; if you have not yet visited, come and join us to see our prize winning mill on the River Raisin. View the mill pond, waterfalls, portages, weir, tail run, race run, patio, pergola and gazebo as well as the gorgeous gardens and interpretive history.

The event will be Thursday, September 1, from 8 am to 3 pm. Bring gardening tools, gloves, and a small tarp if you have one. Also, bring a paper sack to carry home extra iris rhizomes with you.
Directions: Take M-52 north from Manchester. Turn left (west) onto Pleasant Lake Road. It turns left (going south) and becomes Sharon Hollow Road. The park is on your left about a half a mile from the turn, near the River Raisin dam.
RSVP: Prior to the day call Kathy Squiers, 734-385-6560 to confirm you are coming.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
