Blood drive in honor of student a success!

blood1A blood drive held at Klager Elementary School in honor of high school student Alex Clark on Sunday, was deemed a success, as 41 pints of blood were collected throughout the day.

Blood is always needed by the Red Cross and area hospitals, for a variety of different reasons. Alex was involved in a car accident last December and required transfusions on more than one occasion. It could be a cancer patient, or a child with a rare blood disorder. The reasons are many, but the result is the same: Donors were invited to "Celebrate Life and make a difference by giving blood. You'll feel good knowing you've helped change the lives of patients in need."

And Manchester, as usual, turned out for the occasion. National Honor Society Students helped with registration and check in, and teachers Amie Armstrong and Kathy O'Mara played a huge part in the success of the event.
