Voices in Pop will present popular songs in 4-part harmony at Ladies Day on Saturday at the Fair!

One of the enduringly popular events at the Manchester Community Fair each year happens on Saturday morning, from 10 am to noon. And it's reserved especially for the women of the community!

Ladies Day has changed and evolved over the years, but one of the staples of this fun time is the "goodie bags" and drawings for special door prizes, held throughout the morning.  Goodie bags are reserved for the first 200 ladies through the gate, so don't be late! Admission to the fair includes all of the day's activities.

This year's entertainment will include Teresa Benedict , who will share information about the Sesquicentennial events. She will also have a sneak preview of a few of the outfits that will be in the Sesquicentennial fashion show at the tea on July 29th.

Following the fashion show, Voices in Pop, an a cappella women's ensemble, will perform selections of popular music. This Washtenaw County-based group was formed in 2014 to entertain and educate the community, engage and attract young people to a cappella music, and perform at community events.

Voices in Pop has been awarded multi-year grant funding by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Ann Arbor Arts Alliance to promote a cappella harmony in local schools. All members of Voices in Pop are also members of the Voices in Harmony Chorus, affiliated with Sweet Adelines International and sing 4-part barbershop harmony.

The Ladies Day committee is still accepting donated items for the goody bags and door prizes. Donors can contact Marilyn Schulze at 734-216-4600.
