Alert from the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department
Editor’s note: Through personal conversations and in reading Facebook posts, it is certain that this type of activity is happening in our community, though it is unknown at this time if this is the same individual(s). ALWAYS call it in if you feel that someone is trying to enter your residence or outbuildings. Don’t just wait for them to go away. Be mindful of your neighbors and watch out for each other.
From the WCSD:
This following is not specifically for Manchester or Lodi, but it potentially impacts our part of the county.
Today we investigated 2 daytime burglaries and 1 suspicious incident in Scio Twp (that is likely related to the burglaries).
MO:
o Suspect is approaching rural and semi-rural residences which are situated near main roads.
o He is likely attempting to discern if anyone is home prior to committing the burglary.
o One victim was home at the time and scared suspect away
o During another incident a resident saw the suspect in her driveway and confronted him before a burglary took place
§ Suspect had backed his vehicle up to her garage, as though he were going to load items from the garage.
Possible Suspect description:
o White male / 45-55 years old / dark, short hair and mustache / dark skin complexion
o Driving newer model Jeep SUV (or Chrysler product) / dark green
Residents with information are asked to contact the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office via 911.
