The Washtenaw County Conservation District’s Spring 2014 Conservation Plants & Products sales are underway!
Order forms and sale information for trees & shrubs and native plants are now available on the District web site, www.washtenawcd.org by clicking on the Spring Tree & Native Plant Sale link in the “What’s New” box on the home pag
A partial listing of items available are as follows: Conifers such as pine and spruce; deciduous hardwoods such as birch, maple, and oak; fruit trees such as apple, peach, and cherry; 14 varieties of wildflower plants; prairie grass plants; and daylilies.
Order deadlines are: Trees & Shrubs: March 24th; Wildflower & Prairie Grass Plants: April 30th.
Also keep in mind that they have tumbling composters and 55 gallon rain barrels too! Tumbling-style composters are perfect where space is limited, and after a few loads, finished compost can be achieved in as little as 4 weeks.
