Ater a hugely successful Campaign Kick Off in Howell on January 15, 2014 with approximately 150 people in attendance, Democratic state Senate candidate Shari Pollesch will host a Meet & Greet over coffee at the Foggy Bottom Café, 7065 Dexter – Ann Arbor Road, Dexter, MI 48130 on January 25, 2014 from 9a.m. to 11 a.m.
Pollesch is running in the 22nd state Senate seat, which includes western Washtenaw County as well as all of Livingston County.
“Some voters in western Washtenaw may not be aware that as a result of re-districting following the 2010 census, they are no longer in State Senator Rebekah Warren’s district,” Pollesch said.
“Senator Warren has been, and will continue to be, a dynamic and important voice on many, many issues in Lansing, including unfair regulation of women’s reproductive rights and environmental issues, for the 18th District. I will work to fill her shoes in the new 22nd with the hope of earning the immense respect she has earned from these voters. This Meet & Greet is the first step in this process and gives voters in the area an opportunity to come and meet me and learn about my values and my campaign. It is also an opportunity for me to learn from voters in western Washtenaw County about what issues they are most concerned.”
Shari is committed to policies that put people before special interests, children’s education before political agendas, seniors before corporate tax cuts and a clean environment before big energy profits. As a voice of reason in Lansing, Shari will work to reverse policies that are unfairly burdening the middle class and will fight for a smart government that puts people first.
The campaign will be offering coffee and pastries at the event. The campaign will be hosting similar events in other venues in western Washtenaw County in February.
