The Wild Acorn Hosts CAS Event Saturday, February 22
The students of the Cultural Art Strings program will be performing at The Wild Acorn on Saturday, February 22nd, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm for a drop-in concert. Come for all or part of this concert. The door will be open, music will be playing, and light refreshments will be had by all!
This event promotes the Cultural Art Strings summer camp. The camp gives kids, ages 6 to 13, a chance to learn how to play violin, viola, cello or bass. Camp will be held June 16-27 this year and information and early registration will be available at the concert. Need-based scholarships and discounts are available.
The Cultural Art Strings Program, including the summer camp, is organized and taught by local residents Aileen and Robert Rohwer as a division of the Riverfolk Music and Arts Organization. They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The goal of CAS is to provide string music education for the youth of Manchester through Private Lessons, Group Ensemble Classes, Recitals, Benefit Concerts, and Outreach Concerts.
Kids who may be interested in participating with CAS will have a chance to try out instruments at this event as well. This is a great way to gage the interest of your child if you’re still deciding on whether or not this will be a good idea for your child. If you cannot make the event, but would still like this opportunity for your child, contact Aileen. She and her husband are more than happy to introduce more children to string instruments.
This really is a wonderful opportunity for the kids here in Manchester. Please show your support for this organization by stopping into The Wild Acorn on Saturday!
