School Year Extended Through June 13
We are coming out of a harsh winter which resulted in 11 school closings. Because this is 5 more than our allotted number, the State of Michigan requires that these days are made-up. Consequently, Manchester Community Schools has announced that the school year has been extended by five days. The schools’ state funding is dependent on the schools being in session a minimum number of days. In addition, there must be a certain percentage of students in attendance to count a day. If the schools don’t have enough in attendance on these make-up days, the days won’t count and they could still end up losing state funding.
