school signOn Wednesday July 9th there will be an “Informational Community Forum” to share information about the upcoming school bond proposal that will be on the Aug 5th ballot.  There will be a short informational presentation and time for the community to ask questions and have their concerns addressed.  The school district is asking to borrow 3.6 million dollars to be used for technology, safety, and buses.

One of the things the bond will cover is an enhanced 911 system. Currently, if 911 dispatch receives a call from a MCS facility, the only information that appears to the dispatcher is which building the call came from.  With the enhanced 911 system, not only will the school building be identified, but the specific classroom the call came from as well. The enhanced 911 system is being mandated by the federal government and will have to be implemented whether the bond passes or not.

The first of three meetings will be at 7:oopm on Wednesday July 9th in the Board Room at the Ackerson building.  The following two meetings will be at the same location on July 22nd at 10:00am and July 29th at 6:30pm.  Come learn more about what this means for you and the school district.
