The Manchester Equestrian Team, considered an “A” team this year, won its first district meet with a score of 290 to Saline’s 276.  Juniors dominate the team, with 6 from the class accounting for fully half the riders; there are 2 representatives each from the senior, sophomore, and freshman classes. Coach Amanda Walz is optimistic about the team’s chances of winning the district title. “The riders have been working very hard both during practice and on their own,” she said. “I am excited at the progress that I am seeing, and look forward to even better results next week.” The team has two more meets at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds before moving to the Regional meet in Mason at the end of September.
