IMG_3970The Community Resource Center will be hosting a second Manchester Area Non-Profits Roundtable in the Village Room, 912 City Road (lower level of the Manchester District Library) on Tuesday, January 13th at 7:00pm. A previous roundtable was held last September, but was not fully attended. The CRC is hoping to have representatives from all area non-profits this time.

The previous roundtable was attended by representatives from eleven of Manchester’s non-profit groups. The intent of the meeting was to confirm each group’s mission and area of service, and compile a list of each groups projects. Using this information would allow participants to identify areas of need in the community not being met, areas of overlapping services, and areas in which groups could collaborate on projects and support each other.

Since that meeting, CRC Board Member Anita Herman has been planning this second meeting. This meeting will be a brainstorming session and an opportunity to expand on topics discussed at the first meeting. The goal will be to review the missions and goals of the groups at the table and identify unmet needs in the community. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss how to get volunteers, how to coordinate calendars between groups to keep events from conflicting, obstacles to breaking free from old patterns within groups and how to help groups in need who are resistant to accepting help.

The previous meeting hosted representatives from the following groups: CRC, Kiwanis, Civic Club, Manchester Family Service, Manchester Voices, Wellness Coalition, Key Club, Students Leading Students, Student Council, Manchester Ladies Society and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

The CRC hopes this time to also include reps from all area churches, Chamber of Commerce, Chicken Broil, Mens Club, Lions Club, Masons, Worth Repeating, Preceptor Gamma Theta, as well as all the high school service groups/clubs, the library, and any other interested community members.
