Relay For Life will hold its Kickoff from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 at Frank’s Place. The Relay For Life of Manchester is set for Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Manchester’s fifth annual Relay For Life will take place on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to midnight.

This year’s event will see several changes, most importantly a time change.

Traditionally, a 24-hour event to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against every type of cancer, this year’s format has become more flexible and the Event Leadership Team for Manchester has followed suit.

“We are holding the event from 10 a.m. to midnight in order to allow more people to participate with a shorter-term commitment,” said Heather Dixon, ACS Community Staff Partner for Relay For Life.

Heather is a new Community Staff Partner for Manchester’s Relay For Life. Her enthusiasm and drive have really given this year’s Relay a jump start and she is eager to meet more people in the Manchester Relay community!

An “I Love the 80s Relay Kickoff Party” will be held from 7 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th at Frank’s Place, 104 E. Main St., in Manchester. Light food and refreshments will be provided. Wear your favorite 80s attire and join the fun with us!

Anyone interested in participating in, learning more about, or donating to Relay For Life is invited to drop in from 7-8 p.m. to sign up a team or team members, purchase Luminaria bags in honor or memory of someone who has fought cancer, or make an outright donation to the American Cancer Society as part of Manchester’s Relay For Life.

This year’s kickoff event will serve a dual purpose, to introduce Heather to Manchester and also to raise funds for this important cause.

Volunteers will be on hand to help teams sign up and learn more about fund-raising, as well as provide additional information about Relay For Life of Manchester.
