It’s spring, and time again for the Manchester Middle School Eighth Grade Moving Up Celebration, put on by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). It is an annual event held to celebrate four great years of middle school and the transition to a new building. The Moving Up party will be held on Friday, May 8. The ceremony will start at 7pm, and the student party will run from 8 – 10pm.

Families are invited to be present for the short ceremony in the auditorium. Students will be honored as important parts of the school community and will be presented with certificates. The students are invited to stay for the party afterwards which has a $5 admission charge.  There will be a variety of fun things to do including dancing in the commons area with a high school DJ, pop-a-shot basketball and ping pong. There will be free snacks, drinks and an ice cream sundae bar. Additionally, there will be a free raffle with fun prizes. At the end of the evening, students will receive a class t-shirt.

Students that wish to participate should send $5 to school and RSVP to Meg Bourland, one of the event chairs, at megbourland@gmail.com. However, if a student comes to the event without signing up, they will be able to pay the admission fee at the event and attend. Only eighth grade students are invited. Parent chaperones are needed and can also send inquiries to Meg Bourland.

The MMS PTSA is looking forward to another great evening!
