San and Emily Slomovits, along with Jacob Warren, are all accomplished and renowned musicians, who have been playing together since 2013.

For long-time Gazebo concert fans, the name of San Slomovits may be a somewhat familiar one. But wait, there’s more!

San is the brother of Laz, and one-half of the popular duo “Gemini,” which dates back to some of the earliest concerts in the gazebo series. Since 1973, San and Laz have produced twelve recordings and a live concert video of original songs and traditional folk music. Gemini’s recordings have won several Parents’ Choice Magazine Awards, an American Library Association Notable Children’s Recording Award and a National Parenting Publications Honors Award.

Emily Slomovits began playing violin at the age of seven, and has been joining her dad (San) and uncle (Laz) on stage since she was eight years old.

Jacob Warren has already accomplished much as a young bassist and musician. He was a member of the Michigan All-State Orchestra five years in a row while in middle  and high school, Principal Bass in his senior year, and was also Principal Bass of the Michigan Honors Orchestra in 2013.

“We’re very glad to be returning to the Gazebo and to be a part of this annual summer concert series,”  the group said in a Facebook post.

The group will be joined briefly by a group of young musicians from the Cultural Art Strings Summer Camp, and earlier that day will be artists in residence at the camp.

The trio of San, Emily and Jacob has a long history together. Besides playing with Gemini since an early age, Emily and Jacob have known each other since kindergarten and played music together in many settings throughout their school years.

San, Emily and Jacob’s concerts feature a range of traditional and contemporary folk, jazz and classical music, Broadway show tunes, and more. Their beautifully blended harmony vocals and exciting instrumental work breathe new life into this wide variety of music, and audiences thrill to their warmth, humor and ease on stage. They released their first CD together,“Innocent When You Dream,” in 2013.
