Ron Ellison Voted Interim Board of Education Trustee
Former Manchester School Board member Ron Ellison will be returning to the school board shortly as an interim Manchester Board of Education trustee. Ellison was voted in by the current board 5-1, during their October 19 meeting and is filling the trustee position former board president Marlene Wagner recently vacated. He has ample previous experience, having spent 4 years on Napoleon’s School Board and 16 on Manchester’s. Ellison stepped down from Manchester’s board last December.
The board publicly announced that they were accepting letters of interest for the open position. The only other candidate who came forward was Brad Howe, the father of a Manchester students. Howe graciously withdrew his name from consideration during the meeting. The board thanked him, and encouraged him to consider running next election.
During his interview Ellison said he was coming back as a candidate for the Board of Education because of the community. He stated he was here “to be a solution.” He will be sworn in during the School Board meeting on November 16th. His term will last until December 2016.
