Preschool Story-time Receives 4-Legged Visitor
Preschool story time at the Manchester District Library received a very special visitor on Friday: five-month old “Burrito”, a Nigerian breed wether goat. Owner Tara-Sky Alford of Manchester Township presented Burrito with the special help of her nine-year-old daughter Aubrey, and her two younger children Sage and Buck, who are story-time regulars. While the Alford family does have 5 does for milking, Burrito serves as a pet for the family and a companion for other animals, including the newborn baby goats and the cow and horse he lives with in the barn. Like all goats, Buritto eats anything and loves to climb. He will even butt other goats with his head but usually only in play. This was not Burrito’s first time serving as a goat ambassador to small children as he also visited the Co-op Preschool earlier this school year.
Preschool storytime with Ms. Karen runs Wednesday mornings from 10am to 11am. It is free but you need to preregister by calling the library at 734-428-8045.
