The second annual carnival event at Luther C. Klager Elementary School was another huge success. This year’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)–sponsored event brought more than 300 guests through the doors to play games and win prizes together as a community. This year’s special features included the popular face-painting station, an upgraded putt-putt course, a basket raffle filled with local donations, and a very popular raffle for Sparkles the Dragon, generously donated by the Manchester Lion’s Club.
One of the popular draws this year for adults and families alike was the basket raffle. There were 11 different baskets for families to try to win through the raffle this year. Several baskets were made possible thanks to the generosity of local donations from: Dragonfly and Birch, Frank’s, Hungry Wolf, River Raisin Antiques, River Raisin Distillery, Steele Grafix, The Village Tap, and Vintage Flea. Additional generous donations were provided by surrounding area businesses including: Chelsea Lanes, Clinton Movie Theater, Hands-on Museum of Ann Arbor, MJR Adrian Cinema, and Salsarias of Tecumseh.
Many hours of work, helping hands, and volunteers made this PTO-sponsored event a success. Sincere gratitude is extended to the many faculty, staff, administrators, school board members, and PTO members who put in a long day to ensure the success of the event for the families of the Manchester community. And a tremendous thank you to all the families of the community who came out to support the event in such blustery weather on a Friday night in March!
The Klager and Riverside PTO has a long-standing tradition of helping its local schools. The funds earned during the evening will all go directly back into supporting the schools with activities such as family-sponsored events, field trips, assemblies, teacher wish-list classroom-supply money, teacher-appreciation week projects, and more.
The next two meetings will take place on Friday, April 10, and Friday, May 8, at the Klager cafeteria at 3:15pm. Parents and teachers from both buildings have an open invitation to attend meetings and help make a powerful difference for the children and teachers in the local schools. Please join us!
