The 17th annual Kiwanis Crazy Ca$h event will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2016. On one night, some 85 or more volunteers come together with 14 award-winning service groups and $14,000 in cash and prizes. It’s called “crazy cash” for a reason.

The main board reverse raffle for $5,000 cash will be supplemented by a reverse raffle for seven additional prizes: one Prodigy 10 kayak, two $500 Cabela gift cards, two Microsoft Surface Pros and two flat screen televisions. Silent auctions, three 50/25/25 cash drawings, three 50/50 cash drawings, special prize drawings and two live auctions also add to the confusing fun.

Dollars raised at the Kiwanis Crazy Ca$h event are returned to the community to benefit our youth and our senior adults. To date, over $250,000 have been raised to support various projects and programs. This year, the recipients will be the Manchester Farmers Market, the Manchester Soccer Association, the MHS After-Prom group, Manchester Community Education, the Community Resource Center, the Manchester Community Fair, the Manchester Lions Club, the Riverfolk/Cultural Arts and Strings program, Manchester Early Childhood and Special Education programs, the Manchester Senior Citizen’s Council and the Manchester Area Historical Society.

Tickets cost $100 each and only 200 tickets will be sold. Each ticket includes two adult (18 and older) admissions, two catered meals, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages after dinner, and one chance to win $5,000. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at Ash Auto (428-8568), State Farm Insurance (428-8364) and at the Manchester Community Resource Center (428-7722). Tickets purchased on or before December 31st include a $50 voucher to be used the night of the raffle.

The Kiwanis Crazy Ca$h event takes place at the Legacy Realty Building (previously known as the American Legion Hall), 207 Duncan Street. Doors will open at 5pm. Dinner will be served at 6pm. The first number will be drawn at 7pm; that ticket automatically wins $250!
