Snow, Cold In Week’s Forecast; Winter Really Here

The National Weather Bureau is forecasting true winter weather all week for the Manchester Area.

Monday will see scattered snow showers, mainly before 8 am. The day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. The wind will be west/southwest blowing at 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of snow is 30%. By night, snow showers will be likely. It will be cloudy, with a low around 19. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch is possible.

Snow will continue on Tuesday, and the clouds will hang low, with a high near 22. There will be a breezy, west wind, 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. The chance of snow is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Snow showers will likely continue into the night, when it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 11.

Beyond Tuesday, expect weather to stay below freezing, with temps dropping as low as 10 degrees on Wednesday night.

None of this weather is strange for Mid-January, but will come as a shock to those of us expecting Fall to switch directly to Spring without much of a Wintry pause.
