This week at the Manchester Gazebo, be sure to tune in to Manchester’s favorite home-grown band–The Raisin Pickers!

Since the first season of the Gazebo Concerts, The Raisin Pickers–Carol Palms, Mark Palms, and David Mosher–have entertained and delighted audiences on an annual basis. Over the years, the band has cultivated a loyal following with its mix of rustic Appalachian music, old time swing, bluegrass, and traditional Louisiana sounds. It’s a combination that has worked well for the band and for Manchester!

Carol Palms plays classically-trained bass, fiddle, and vocals while capturing the heart of traditional music. Her husband Mark, a self-taught musician, plays banjo, guitar, accordion, and vocals. Mark is a self-taught musician, while David Mosher joins in on mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and vocals.

This year, the 26th anniversary of the founding of The Raisin Pickers, is especially exciting, because a new generation of “pickers” are joining them for this concert at the Gazebo.

Another popular singer/songwriter has recently joined the band–Billy King, a high-energy electric guitarist, who has played at gazebo concerts since his childhood and has played solo as well as with other groups. And the next generation of the Palms family, Natalie Mae, will bring along her versatile talents (guitar, banjo, fiddle, piano, ukulele, and vocals) to be showcased at this week’s concert.
