Teresa Benedict, serving as spokesperson for the Manchester Chicken Broil reported that while the storm that broke right at the beginning of the Chicken Broil dampened take-out and the eat-in lines, the drive-through line kept going “fast and furious!” The last chickens were going on the fire just as the rain hit, and though it rained hard, the fires didn’t go out. Visitors came this year from as far away as China, Luxembourg, and Mexico. One Chicken Broil worker’s grandson came all the way from Montana to help work the Chicken Broil this year.

Deputy King and Deputy Rex of the Sheriff Department helped manage traffic in and around the drive-thru. Deputy King stated that he thought attendance may have been a little lighter than normal but the drive-thru traffic was non- stop. Deputy Rex stated that he didn’t mind the rain because it was definitely cooler afterwards.
