Potholes rendering a road on your commute undrivable? Bushes growing up over a stop sign? Poor drainage causing flooding over the roadway? Now there is an easy way to get that information to the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC)! The WCRC has partnered with SeeClickFix to announce a new platform called “WCRC Fix It” which allows citizens to report non-emergency road issues online here. Use a smart phone instead of a computer? They also have an app.

Using the WCRC Fix It app or web-form, residents will be able to identify where a road issue is located on a map, answer a few brief questions, and submit the issue to the Road Commission. Citizens are able to track the progress of their service request and will be notified when their issue is resolved. The app was developed on the same platform as the City of Ann Arbor’s “A2 Fix It” and City of Ypsilanti’s “Ypsi Connect.”

“We expect that WCRC Fix It will create a more user-friendly experience for residents and enhance our online transparency,” said Roy Townsend, Managing Director at the Washtenaw County Road Commission. “Citizens will be able to track requests and we will be able to provide better communication on the status of those requests. Moreover, our staff will be able to assign work more quickly, track progress and better understand where issues are arising so we can work more efficiently.”

The Washtenaw County Road Commission maintains 1,649 miles of public roads located outside of city and village limits. WCRC crews provide a range of services, including dust control, snow removal, pothole patching, sign and signal repair. To view a list of the services WCRC provides, click here.

“The WCRC Fix It platform is intended for non-emergency road issues. We will check and respond to service requests submitted via WCRC Fix It during business hours. If you are reporting an emergency or potentially hazardous road issue, we urge you to call us immediately at (734) 761-1500,” added Townsend.

The WCRC Fix It mobile app is available for download on Android here and iPhone here. In addition to the mobile apps, citizens can report an issue on WCRC’s website here.
