Vacancies on three Village commissions
One of the tasks that Village President Pat Vailliencourt undertakes with the start of a new calendar year is making appointments to the various commissions that are a sub-set of local government.
The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the Council on matters of zoning and land use. It also reviews and adopts the Village Master Plan. Planning Commission members, appointed by Council, serve staggered three-year terms. It meets monthly, on the 2nd Wednesday after the 1st Monday of each month at 7 pm in the Council Chambers.
Currently, the term of Sarah Andrews on Planning Commission has expired, and the seat is open.
Manchester Village Parks Commission responsibilities include developing and administering the Parks budget, with periodic reports to Council. The Parks Commission is also responsible for the development of a five-year plan that outlines proposed enhancements to Manchester’s Parks system. Parks Commission meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, except holidays, at 7 pm.
There is currently one vacancy on Parks Commission.
The Historic District Commission has been dormant for a few years, but Vailliencourt has been working to fill vacancies on this commission. The Historic District includes areas of the village and downtown that have been deemed historical for a variety of reasons.
Serving on a village commission is a great way to begin to get involved in local government and learn more about our community. Any Village resident may apply. To apply for a position on any village commission, see the application form Here.
