This Wednesday, Feb. 15, the Walk to School Wednesday gang will celebrate Heart Smart month! February is observed as National Heart Month and with Valentine’s Day also being celebrated this week, it is a great time to draw attention to the heart smart benefits of walking. Prizes will be given to all participants.

Last week, 27 walkers, including two middle schoolers were joined by Sgt. Paul Cook of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Station 4 in Manchester. The kids enjoyed asking him about all the important gear he was wearing!

Remember, walkers meet at the Ackerson building and at Wurster Park at 7:30 a.m., and at Chi-Bro Park at 7:45 a.m. Join us for an invigorating walk to school.
