John Dey Kief Home in the village

Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 8, at 7 pm, when the Manchester Area Historical Society will present a program on how to research the history of your home here in town. The program is open to the public, and will take place at the MAHS Kingsley-Jenter House at 302 E. Main St. We’ll begin the evening with a short update meeting on MAHS activities, then conduct this program, and finish with refreshments. All are welcome!

Ray Berg of the MAHS and Tamara Denby of the Manchester District Library will demonstrate the various tools available at the MAHS, the Library, on-line, and at other local offices, to trace when your house was built and who the previous owners were. We’ll cover both homes in the village and farmhouses in the townships, using several actual examples of research which have been completed.

Both the Sesquicentennial events last year, and recent new home owners showing an interest, have led to strong growth in the number of these requests. Learn how previous owners of your home were a part of Manchester life before you! We hope to see you there!
